The best films for children, 2009

DVD and Blu-ray best films for children, 2009

As the mother of a 6 year old child, I spent a good amount of time at the movies this year and have seen most if not all children a great movie released in 2009. So I thought it might be useful to give you my brief reviews and opinions about what is best for children or family to the movies of 2009 that will be available on DVD or Blu Ray for Christmas. I'm going to see them from my perspective as a parent, the views of my son, as if he liked it or not, and if I think I will continue to see repeated in the home.

These are not in chronological order, are just adding these as they come to me:

1. Marley & Me

Marley and Me is a strange film. In fact, I would say it was a parallel two films that could have been more or had worked. On the one hand, Marley and Me is a movie for middle-aged men approaching middle age or latercrisis. These are issues like people losing their independence, to enter into a relationship, the difficulties of juggling work and family life, and the problems of having children and families. I must say, has addressed these issues very well and great movie, I thought it was good enough and Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston were excellent. However, the film was marketed as a silly family comedy about a big stupid dog, Marley. My son and I had seentrailers of the film, seeing the other films in the cinema (do not remember exactly what, but probably the likes of Hotel for Dogs, and Monsters vs. Aliens - see below). The trailer focuses on the crazy antics of dogs and their owners. Actually, what you get is the adult themes as explained above, intertwined with Marley is the constant relationship of the couple and everything goes fine until the last half hour when, oh my God, it becomes one ofmost poignant and moving film of all time, by Kes seems an episode of Dancing on Ice. Marley gets old and sick. In the end, it should be put to sleep. This is bad enough you might think, except that it is not. It is much worse. You are required to search each family member to give his heart breaking goodbye to his old friend as he loses the struggle for survival, which led to Wilson to be there because lethal injection is applied to Marley to sleep. Andends here - then the despair of every child reading his praise of the dead in the Marley family for the funeral of the poor. dog that my son was crying (as most of the audience) and was really upset because the movie was so sad. I never would have taken to see that I had known what it really was and felt very guilty for forcing him to wear, along with the difficult problems for children as death. Amateur psychoAnalysis aside, I would say definitely not a movie for children. Not sure if this movie is also for older children, adolescents.

Therefore, the rating (of ten):

Dads score: 8 Assessment of children: a repeat watchability: 2 Average: 3.6 out of 10.

Marley worth buying and I as a Christmas gift for children? Of course not. (It's worth buying for dad though!).

Marley and Me is based on a book with the same name of course (and there are other books in the series of Marley) and the book isAlso worth a look.

2. Hotel for Dogs.

Hotel Bau is a much better proposal. A pair of orphaned teens in foster care are forced to take extreme measures when your dog needs a place to stay. They have to hide their terrible (but beautifully played), the adoptive parents and run in a large disused hotel in old (obviously dreamed of before the housing boom of the 1990's, when every inch of vacuum free land seems to have become at least 20 apartments). I do not want to ruinthe story for you, but the two guys involved, their social worker, foster parents, and, above all, a wide range of dogs than children to save the pound (and death) with the help of some other guys who work in pet shops. It s a very good movie and one of our favorites this year. We have actually seen the movie twice and I had no problem with that myself!

Therefore, the rating (of ten):

Dads score: 9 Assessment of Children: 9 Repeat watchability: 7 Average: 8.310.

A Hotel for dogs purchase worth as a Christmas gift for children? Of course.

3. G-Force

G-Force, came out recently, in 3-D and 2-D versions. Unfortunately, our local cinema is not compatible with 3-D so we ended up seeing in normal vision. I must admit I was skeptical about G-Force is very good. We had seen the trailer, it looked very funny, but I thought it might be a little "one trick pony. Fortunately I was wrong anyway. G-Force traces the exploits of atrained group of guinea pigs (hence the G), along with a techno genius Mole, which are operated by a (supposedly) a little "eccentric but brilliant scientist government work together. When the" federal "government decides to end his funding, the coach is desperate for his team to solve a serious crime in progress. Once again, I will not spoil the story, but great fun, with excellent characterization and good quality of life. Very funny.

Therefore, the classification of the film G-Force(Out of ten):

Dads score: 8 Assessment of Children: 9 Repeat watchability: 7 Average rating: 8 out of 10.

Worth buying G-Force, as a Christmas gift for children? YES. We also have a PSP and this game is very good too. I can not comment on other formats, but the odds are so well worth it. Po 'difficult for very young children though.

4. Foreigners in the attic.

They Came From Upstairs is another issue of holidays. It has aliens landing on earth during a "meteor shower" in a housecontaining two families on holiday with her boyfriend in tow of hatred with a device that allows people to use their remote control devices. And that's, uh, in this sense really. It is slow to start and actually was kind of a one trick horse. It seemed strange set back as if trying to claim a place like ET in film history (children with Activision games and retro t-shirts etc. haircuts) but also included the Internet is not so obvious had to beestablished in 1970. Not really working for us. The two quickly became bored. The story was poor, and foreigners were like annoying "frogs madness.

Thus, the voting of foreigners in the Attic (ten):

Dads score: 3 Children's Room: 3 Repeat watchability: 3 Average: 3 out of 10.

worth buying a Christmas gift for children? Of course not, in our opinion.

5. Monsters vs. Aliens

Monsters vs. Aliens was another movie that was released in 3-D and again, we can notsee in 3-D. E 'is characterized by animated characters and good, basically around three "monsters" who had been living in a scientific laboratory of the Government (including a woman who was hit by a meteorite impact on wedding day , which became "Ginormica" a woman in a high mass - all in proportion, was not an attack on the cake). Were sent in a last desperate attempt to gain a foreign body that the army was able to destroy conventional weapons.Again, plot spoiler withheld. However, it was a fun romp, well made and enjoyable enough. However, I do not think it has lasted so well to repeated visions. E 'was definitely worth seeing once, but I do not think you are attacked in our DVD player.

Therefore, vote for Monsters vs. Aliens (ten):

Dads score: 7 Sons Rating: 8 Repeat watchability: 5 Average: 6.6 out of 10.

Worth buying Monsters vs. Aliens as a Christmas gift for children?Perhaps (but it's definitely worth seeing once.) More than one means that a no! There are also plenty of Monsters vs. Aliens toys available if the hugs were especially impressed by the film.

7. Up!

Up! is the latest Disney Pixar stable and we were lucky to get tickets for the preview to see the movie in full 3-D in Leicester Square for several months. beautifully animated (computer graphics, of course) and E 'in 3-D was effective, but probably notessential in my opinion. It s a beautiful story of a man about to be put in nursing homes. After working as a vendor of balloons to his dead wife as a younger man, decided to take one last trip to find a place (Paradise Falls somewhere in South America) that both had dreamed of visiting children, but not had never been around a. Start the morning of his departure from the nursing home with the release of thousands of helium filled balloons tethered inyour house is going up and out for adventure. Once in the air, he discovers a young man, "the explorer named Kevin who was on his porch, at the time of his life outside, and two of them bond while his adventures. It s a beautiful film, despite he could not help thinking that there was a little "something is missing in history. A lot of time is devoted to the story is not very successful, and felt it should have been a bit "deeper and more participation, althoughI can not put my finger on what it was.

Thus, the vote of Up! (Out of ten):

Dads score: 9 Assessment of Children: 9 Repeat watchability: 8 Average: 8.6 out of 10.

Worth buying! as a Christmas gift for children? Of course.

8. Ice Age 3. The dawn of the dinosaurs.

The third part of the Ice Age series, and I must admit I was not sure what to expect. I thought that part was good, the second part was OK, but not very exciting. As we have seen, had no reason to distrust. Ice3 years of age had a rather boring plot involving a quest to recover a lost friend (SID), which was in hiding because if usurped in the affections of a mammoth from the imminent birth of the great mammoth first child. Sid adopted three children dinosaur eggs after their meeting, but is then kidnapped by her mother in search of them. Sid is taken to a jungle of prehistoric dinosaurs, and others (obviously) and then find it all out. I'm not sure why it did not workfor us, but it was not. I know it's aimed at children, but it was predictable and rather boring. There are some funny parts, but the fight between Sid and his new friend in an acorn was fun for 5 minutes, but seemed to appear every 10 in the whole movie.

Therefore, the rating (of ten):

Dads score: 5 Sons Rating: 6 reps watchability: 3 Average: 4.6 out of 10.

worth buying a Christmas gift for children? No, unless your children are completely in the film Ice Age. Thatends of the guys in my lap for best film of 2009.
